Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) NCR and Central Luzon District Commander CG RADM Hostillo Arturo E. Cornelio on Saturday morning promptly visited and checked the condition of a Chinese national confined at Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center who was one of the 15 rescued when two foreign-flagged vessels figured in a collision in the waters off Mariveles Friday night.
Cornelio said he also talked with Chinese crew for information to find the missing crews.
Hospital doctors declared the Chinese crew already in safe condition.
Cornelio said Coast Guard and other authorities were able to rescue 15 crews of MV Hong Hai 189 while 21 crews of oil product tanker Pettite Soeur were all in good condition.
He was accompanied by PCG Bataan Station Commander Jonathan Serote.
“Agad na pumunta sa Bataan ang aming District Commander CG RADM Hostillo Arturo E. Cornelio para makita agad ang sitwasyon sa ground, mga na-confine na biktima, at ang mga na-rescue natin”, Serote said.
Two crew members, a Chinese national and Filipino safety officer, died and 3 Chinese crews are still missing all of MV Hong Hai 189, based on Sunday report from authorities.
